[Throwaways] New comment on Speaking of Phone Calls.

Somehow I missed this post. : ( I have the same unfortunate theory. I currently have one, ONE lousy person that I feel comfortable enough with to call and "just talk." But even then I only do that if we haven't talked for some other reason for days on end. Usually the call starts with some sort of mission and then morphs into a conversation. So if you want to just talk to someone, invent a mission. You have the perfect cover for that--researcher! "Hi, are you busy? No? Well, I'm just calling because C.S.I. needs to know what the weather typically is in your area around September. So how are you?" See? Easy.
